"Financial Literacy" Program Continues Monthly Training Workshops with Five New Workshops Coming in October

The "Financial Literacy" program is continuing its mission to establish a culture of sound financial management and bolster economic sustainability within the Qatari family, as evidenced by two successful training workshops held in September. These sessions were organized by the Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF) in partnership with national institutions, including the Qatar Finance and Business Academy (QFBA) and the Qatar Association of Certified Public Accountants (QCPA).

The first workshop, led by QFBA and titled "Diversifying Sources of Income: Using Creative and Design Thinking," was presented by Engineer Hamad Al Badr. It covered essential concepts like income diversification, design thinking, generating practical ideas, and addressing common misconceptions. Al Badr noted the timeliness of the course, citing statistics that show the current generation’s growing focus on diversifying income to mitigate financial risks. Participants, such as Al Reem Al Tamimi, highlighted the value of learning about creative thinking and passive income, emphasizing that persistence and conscious investment are key to achieving financial stability, not overnight success.

The second workshop, "The Family Budget," organized by the QCPA and led by Mr. Abdullah Al Mansouri, focused on preparing a balanced budget for effective family resource management. This session was particularly aimed at young professionals new to the workforce, as Al Mansouri stressed that this period is a critical starting point for wise financial management, which is vital for future success and family stability. Participant Amna Al Saadi shared that she gained crucial skills in preparing a monthly budget, controlling expenses, and differentiating between wants and needs, in addition to appreciating the importance of supplementing one's salary with other income sources.

The Ministry confirms that the program is set to intensify its activities, with five new training workshops scheduled for October, targeting various community segments to build a strong financial culture that supports national development and sustainability aspirations. The "Financial Literacy" program is a core component of the MSDF's strategy to enhance sustainable development and build a robust economic society, serving as a primary tool to empower individuals for effective financial management. The collaboration with esteemed local institutions underscores the Ministry's commitment to leveraging national expertise, ensuring the program’s effectiveness and alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030 objectives for continuous financial education and family stability.
