Families reach a million steps in the “Let’s Walk” initiative
Her Excellency Maryam bint Ali Al-Misnad, Minister of Social Development and Family, said in a tweet published yesterday through her official account on Twitter: I am pleased that families have reached a million steps in the Let's Walk initiative #Million_Steps_closer, but the most important thing is their participation in pledges that lead towards positive change, which we sought through This initiative. The Ministry of Social Development and the Family also published a tweet yesterday, in which it said: The goal of the Let's Walk initiative #Million_Step_Closer was achieved within the first 3 days after the participating families completed 1,000,000 steps..and we will continue after, join us until the 20th of Ramadan at Festival City, Mall of Qatar, and Aspire Zone. In parallel with the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, the ministry launched the multifaceted innovative "Yalla Namshi" initiative, last Saturday, through the ministry's accounts on social media platforms. The initiative is based on the revival and sustainability of a societal sports custom that Qataris have long practiced and is associated with the holy month of Ramadan, whereby they practice walking before breakfast in public parks and malls, by encouraging the community to practice this healthy activity in an atmosphere that enriches interfamilial communication and provides an opportunity for a new style of Behavioral reinforcements that support family construction, and enrich the atmosphere of the month of Ramadan, inspiring faith and spirituality, and indicative of the importance of family cohesion as the most important component of the structure of a compact society.
