The 44th Meeting of the Technical Committee on Housing Affairs
The Technical Committee on Housing Affairs of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) held its 44th preparatory meeting for the 25th meeting of the Committee of Senior Housing Officials of the GCC countries on Sunday, May 12, 2024, in Doha, Qatar. The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Mr. Nasser bin Muhanna Al-Mannai, Director of Housing Department at the Ministry of Social Development and Family in Qatar, the current chair of the session. The meeting was attended by the GCC committee members and representatives from the Municipalities and Housing Departments of the GCC General Secretariat.
The meeting discussed number of topics included in its agenda, most notably the issues of mutual interest in the housing sector which include the Gulf Joint Housing Action Plan for 2024-2030, the initiatives developed by the committee to be presented to the senior housing officials in their upcoming meeting, housing information databases, the GCC Housing Award, unified regulations for property owners in the GCC countries, and the third GCC Housing Week and its events, which will be hosted by the State of Kuwait in 2025.
The meeting concluded with several outcomes related to the Gulf Joint Housing Action Plan for 2024-2030 and a number of proposed recommendations to be presented at the 25th meeting of the Senior Housing Officials Committee of the GCC countries, which will be held from May 14-15, 2024.
Additionally, several members of the Technical Committee on Housing Affairs will participate in the opening of the second GCC Housing Week this year. A selection of speakers, experts, and specialists in the housing field will participate in this week which will be held at Qatar National Convention Centre in Doha from May 13-16, 2024.
