"Social Development" promotes cooperation with Qatar University
In cooperation with Qatar University, the Ministry of Social Development and Family has signed a memorandum of understanding to promote cooperation and benefit from the mutual potential of the two institutions. These included research and studies to be supported. It also designs, implements, and evaluates policies and programs that contribute to the development of Qatar's family social realities.
Mr. Ghanem Mubarak Al-Kuwari, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry, affirmed the Ministry's keenness to implement national strategies, plans, and policies related to the care of the family and its members. He said, "The Ministry seeks to provide a decent life for Qatari families. It raises the efficiency of workers in social specializations, while the university represents the distinguished national academic edifice among the universities of the region and the home of long-standing expertise in all specializations." Al-Kuwari added: We are dedicated to working in the field of joint development and building the knowledge, skills, and capabilities required to perform the tasks of social workers.
He pointed out that the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the Ministry and Qatar University is an embodiment of the bonds of cooperation and an emphasis on the importance of institutionalizing cooperation. Also, it can benefit from the available capabilities to serve the two institutions and seek to exchange information and experiences to raise the efficiency of the performance of both parties.
In a statement, Ms. Maryam Maadeed, Vice-Chancellor of the University for Research and Graduate Studies, said: "The memorandum aims to enhance cooperation between the two parties in the fields of research and studies, exchange experiences and organize academic and social events. She hoped that the memorandum would constitute a step forward in Qatar University's cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development and the Family to develop and strengthen the national development strategy in the social, health, educational, cultural, environmental, and other fields

The Ministry of Social Development and Family, represented by the Family Protection Section of the Social Protection Department, is set to launch the "Gharsa Program" in collaboration with the Department of Da'wah and Religious Guidance at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs. The inaugural event will take place on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the Women’s Activity Building of the Department of Da'wah, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
