"Social Development" organizes workshops for girls

The Ministry of Social Development and Family, represented by the Family Empowerment Department, in cooperation with Yafi Training Academy, organized a Doll Making workshop for girls, on June 15, at the Art Center in Souq Waqif lasted for two days.

This workshop aims to introduce girls to how to make dolls and their favorite characters from simple materials and support their ardent talents, providing them with new skills that benefit them in their lives. It also aims to hone their skills and provide them with the needed experience.

The Dolls Making workshop targets girls: 10 years and above, as it relies on the principle of learning through play by creating their favorite characters and telling stories while using dolls. The Ministry also seeks, through this workshop, to instill innovation and creativity.

Mrs. Amal Al-Yafei, Executive Director of Yafi Training Academy, explained that the changes of the era posed a challenge in the field of technical and vocational training, which led to a high level of quality of output in this field which appeared clearly in the forward-looking vision and the strategic plan of the State of Qatar. for the year 2030 AD.

Mrs. Fatima Al-Nuaimi, Acting Director of the Family Empowerment Department at the Ministry, said: "We are proud of this fruitful cooperation with the Yafi Training Academy, as they offer development programs, special programs, and distinguished rehabilitation courses that serve all segments of society, as the academy strives to enhance creativity and innovation and provide opportunities for individuals."

The Ministry, through the Family Empowerment Department, seeks to support and encourage development projects aimed at empowering individuals and families economically, in coordination with the relevant authorities, and directing and encouraging the efforts of the private sector and civil society organizations to establish or finance development projects to empower individuals and families economically. The Family Empowerment Department also offers awareness programs to encourage family saving, counseling and guidance programs, technical consultations, and the necessary support to achieve stability.

Mrs. Yafei emphasized the importance of the human element and its role in achieving sustainable developed methods through training programs for labor in the country in line with modern management, increasing their knowledge, and developing their technical abilities and skills.

Regarding the Academy cooperation with the Ministry, she also highlighted that this academy would strive to enhance creativity for individuals to be part of positive change in the family and society. She added that this social initiative aims to serve the family by presenting helpful ideas to make change.

She said, "As a local partner, we participate with the Ministry in implementing this initiative by presenting new creative ideas that serve the family and society." Al-Yafei affirms the academy's keenness to support young national cadres participating in national productive projects "from the homeland" supported by the Ministry of Social Development and Family.
