Productive project owners from Al Watan participate in Qatar National Day celebrations
The Ministry of Social Development and Family, represented by the Family Empowerment Department, participated in the event held at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor to mark Qatar National Day.
The event was held in cooperation with Al Khor and Al Dhakira Municipality to provide a platform for productive project owners from Al Watan to market their products.
As many as six productive project owners participated in the event. A number of such events are held throughout the year to provide them with a marketing platform.
Their participation also enhances the development of their capabilities and talents, increases their competitiveness, provides them with marketing opportunities, enriches the labor market, and diversifies marketing fields.
The productive project owners showcased traditional foods, sweets, souvenirs, and coffee carts.
The event included the “Tea and Chips” project, which offers food with a popular and modern touch, and provides a range of popular dishes enjoyed by visitors. It also aims to introduce tourists to traditional foods that are considered part of Qatari heritage.
Regarding the participation of the “Tea and Chips” project in the National Day activities, a project owner expressed his happiness about their participation in the special day activities.
The importance of their participation lies in enhancing the spirit of belonging to the homeland, showing pride in the national identity, and celebrating cultural and heritage values.
It is also an opportunity to strengthen unity among members of society, in addition to supporting local projects and presenting a good image of the homeland.
The owner of the ‘Sada’ project, which provides products that express people’s interests, personalities, and favorite characters, was also present at the celebration.
It specializes in selling high-quality cloth bags that are designed and printed to express the identity of the person carrying them, in addition to metal stickers about the State of Qatar and other countries, cartoon characters, and various phrases. The products of this project have been admired by many visitors.
Regarding the importance of their participation on this day, the project owner expressed her happiness in this participation as it means a lot to her.
It is also an opportunity to display their products to visitors to buy for themselves or as gift for their family and friends. The products are also available on the Instagram account of the project at sada.aljazi.
The Family Empowerment Department, in cooperation with the Qatar National Museum, organized an event as part of the National Day celebrations at the museum.
Several Qatari women, the owners of productive projects from ‘Al Watan’ skilled with Al Naqdah embroidery participated in the event.
The ladies presented the skill of ‘Al-Naqda’ craft, its types and forms, introducing the public to the heritage of Qatari crafts, preserving the Qatari heritage, and spreading the culture of respecting handcraft.
Regarding the craft of Al Naqdah, the participating women said that in the past, women’s clothes were embroidered with gold and silver threads using a special needle known as ‘Naqdah’. Nowadays, its use has been developed and it is now used in paintings, accessories, and gift bags.
They also expressed their happiness to participate in this event as part of the National Day celebrations, as it is an opportunity to display their products to visitors and introduce them to ancient professions that are an essential part of the national identity.
The Family Empowerment Department in cooperation with the Al Daayen Municipality organized an event to celebrate Qatar National Day with senior citizens under the theme ‘Senior Citizens are Pride and Identity of the Nation’. Several productive projects participated in the event.
A team from the Ministry of Social Development and Family in coordination with the Department of Geriatrics and Long-Term Care visited the elderly residing in the hospitals and shared with them the joy of the National Day.
Director of the Family Empowerment Department at the Ministry Fatima Al Nuaimi said that the participation of owners of productive projects from Al Watan in this national event provides an opportunity to highlight and learn about their innovative products.
“We are keen to provide support to owners of national productive projects and enhance their participation in the local economy. The initiative from Al Watan also builds a culture of sustainability and encourages individuals and families to shift from consumption to production,” said Al Nuaimi.
The Ministry of Social Development and Family stresses its continuous keenness to support owners of productive projects from Al Watan in line with the State's efforts to achieve social development and self-sufficiency.
This is one of the pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030, which aims to improve the quality of life of individuals and ensure the achievement of a decent living.
The Ministry is also keen to provide training courses and programs for owners of productive projects from Al Watan in cooperation with the relevant authorities to develop their skills and improve their products in line with the requirements of the local market.
